Effective October 5, 2026
Shutter Click is an Android app and a Garmin watch app that press the Pixel Camera shutter when you press a button on your watch. This policy covers both.
Shutter Click does not collect, store on a server, sell or share any personal data. It has no account, no ads and no analytics. The Android app does not request internet access.
Pixel Camera’s on-screen controls. Shutter Click uses Android’s AccessibilityService API to find the Photo shutter button in Pixel Camera and press it when you ask from your watch. To do this it reads the labels, state and position of controls in the Pixel Camera window, and checks which app is in front and whether the phone is unlocked. It does this only during a remote session that you start. This information is used in the moment and is not saved or sent anywhere.
Shutter Click does not read the content of other apps, your photos or videos, the camera image, your location, your contacts or your Garmin health and activity data. It does not request camera or storage permission.
Your Garmin watch connection. The app uses the Nearby devices permission and the Garmin Connect app to exchange short messages with the Shutter Click watch app. These messages contain only a request number, a random session code, and a status such as “ready” or “accepted”. They travel between your phone and your watch and are not sent to us.
Notifications. The app shows a notification while a remote session is active so that you can see it and end it.
The app keeps a small amount of information in its private storage: which watch you selected, whether you have accepted the camera control explanation, and the request numbers of the current session so that one press cannot take two photos. This stays on your phone, is excluded from cloud backup and device transfer, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Shutter Click depends on Garmin Connect and Pixel Camera, which are separate apps covered by Garmin’s and Google’s own privacy policies. If you install Shutter Click from Google Play or the Connect IQ Store, those stores may give the developer aggregated, anonymous statistics such as install counts and crash reports under their own policies.
Shutter Click is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
